A lot of people don't realize that derpy's voice actor did not know that derpy was female so they did a boys voice.

Hello everyone, sorry for yet another break. But that is not the point of this post. As most of the fandom knows, Derpy’s voice, name, and eyes were changed or censored. I am trying my best not to be pulled into this issue but it does kind of upset me.
When she finally got a scene I was excited, her voice was adorable and fit very well! Even though it was a mistake, it fit really well. The scene was great and it was a great treat to the fandom that all of us should have enjoyed. Quite the opposite happened, everyone was somehow “offended” by her role. Okay, I was literally about to blow my brains out because of the stupid. We all built up Derpy and her character as a clumsy mailmare who doesn’t care about her disabilities. Everyone loved her to my knowledge. No hate or anyone being “offended” by the fanart. Then the episode comes out. “WOW THIS IS SO OFFENSIVE MAKING FUN OF PEOPLE WITH MENTAL DISABILITIES! THAT IS JUST SICK!!!” No, it was not offensive nor was the scene made to be so. It was a funny scene, it showed even though she is a clutz she was happy. And that is what is most important.
Her voice wasn’t offensive either. Compared to Ed and Stimpy her voice was normal. If you think Derpy was offensive, if you watched one episode of Pinky and the Brain, Ed Edd and Eddy, or Ren and Stimpy you would probably have an aneurysm. Then you tried to take away Derpy by creating petitions, then you exploded once more. Then she got censored, everyone is heartbroken. And who does everyone blame? Yamino, who simply spoke her mind on Derpy. She didn’t make any petitions or rally against her, she spoke her thoughts on her. That is fine. Then you go to her dA and tell her “YOUR NOT A REAL WOMEN” “YOU KILLED DERPY, KILL URSELFFFF!!!!!”
You know what? Anyone that said that to her and follows me, I don’t care if you get mad, go fuck yourself. You don’t tell another human being to go kill themselves. She had nothing to do with Derpy being censored. Nothing. Also, we are the ones that promote Love and Tolerance and you go do this. Good lord I was ripping my eyeballs out after reading those posts to her. Just sick. It’s not Hasbro’s fault either, they were upset about censoring it to. So stop pointing fingers you sillies.
I also follow BaldDumboRat here on Tumblr and hearing her response on the issue really did break my heart. She had a rough week with being forced to give away her pets, people bugging her about smoking pot, and then this happens. I understanding her being upset. If you could all go give her some love I would really appreciate it.
So am I upset about all this? Of course. I have been running this blog on and off for almost a year now and I have seen tons and TONS of fanart of Derpy. I know and have read all the well known Derpy fan-fics and they have been really hard to read but have really set the character of Derpy for me. Seeing Hasbro needing to censor her was sad for me. This fandom did an amazing thing with her. They made her an icon of the show and have basically built the character of Derpy by just seeing her in the background for about 2-5 seconds. That is what I found unique about Derpy, her character was pretty much created by the fandom and Hasbro saw that. They included her in an episode with her own scene. Not many fandoms, if any, actually influence the actual creators of a show to include a character, built or praised by the fandom, in the show that wasn’t supposed to really have a character. We should have been excited but as I said, not many were. Now a message to Derpy.
Derpy, you will always be in my heart. You will always be the best pony to me. Whether it be the Derpy Hasbro wants you to be or how the fandom built you to be. You have helped me through some tough times, times that were dark and hopeless. You show that even if you have disabilities or are clumsy you are happy. You don’t let hate get you down, you are just happy to be you. You will always be the Derpy we all know and love.

But seriously, I love how she was involved in an episode. Her voice is so adorable to! When she was asking Rainbow Dash for help when she was down in the hole, GOD that was adorable. I am still watching the new episode, so no spoilers please. My thoughts of the episode will come soon!
